Supply Chain Services
Is the process of integrating the system of organizations, people, technology, activities, information and resources involved in moving a product or service from a supplier or a distribution center to the customer.
Managing supply chain solutions involves maximizing the added value also reducing the total cost of the complete trading process by focusing on the speed and the certainty of the response in the market.
These services link all the customers, retailers, suppliers, and the manufacturers in a chain form and then they deliver the products like one single virtual organization that is full with resources and skills.
In this process there is synchronization of all goods and information from one supplier to another until reaches the final user which is really your client.
A typical supply chain where National Products Fulfilment is involved begins with the original supplier delivering goods to our storage facilities and all the activities involved to ensure reaching your client.
Typically the structure developed at National Products fulfilment allows the simplification of steps which allows our clients to sell their products via to deal with clients such as:
This processes encountered in the supply chain will therefore be between different companies that will seek to maximize their revenue of the owner of the goods and will be completely transparent to the user of these services.
The goal of this process is the implementation, planning and controlling the operations of the supply chain as much efficiently as possible and bringing out greater amounts of efficiency for NPF’s clients by reducing the errors and the excess of inventories, and maintaining the steady movement of products from the manufacturer to the clients..
The supply management chain is a very powerful management tool as it helps increasing the responsiveness of changing the business condition also enhancing the competitiveness in all the areas involved.
For the business to survive and grow, it is very much important to make use of the best management tools and one of them is to have the right supply chain structure which allows businesses to grow and also become cost competitive.
The increasing usage of internet, it has transitioning to means of association between various companies. By concentrating on the efforts on the better communication with customers and the suppliers, the inefficiencies are ironed not only in company but also in the surroundings.
Internet has made it easy to communicate with some other firms. The efficient Supply Chain Management allows a profitable business structure.
One important component is the selection and integration between companies using the most appropriate software or making the integration between software of different companies compatible to enhance the communication between systems and ensuring minimum human intervention and at the same time keeping a high level of customer satisfaction, this is particularly important for Internet Traders who have particular supply chain requirements.
Some of the warehousing and distribution techniques involved to achieve these objectives include:
- Just in time
- Cross Docking
- Cycle counting
- Systems Integration
Supply Chain Management spans all movement and storage of raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods from point of origin to point of consumption
Competitive edge
The climate of the recent business has changed rapidly and has grown even more competitive. The businesses these days not only require low cost operation for competing but also developing its own competencies in order to distinguish from the crowd of competitors and stand out uniquely in market.
In creation of the competitive edge, the companies require diverting the resources in order to focus on what all they could possibly do the best and outsourcing the process also the task which is not quite important.
In this competitive world, this is the only way to survive and we at National Products Fulfilment understand that this is a vital part in your business model.
Focusing on the core competencies and outsourcing the other services allows companies an efficient an profitable model to focus in the specialized niche and core areas. The companies who look for the bigger picture and outsource their non related core activities are the ones destined to be the leaders in their relevant area.
Other Terms:
Cross-docking is a practice in logistics and warehousing of unloading materials from an incoming truck and loading these materials directly into outbound trucks, trailers, with little or no storage in between. Often it is offloaded directly to the Postal or Courier truck
The typical advantages are:
- Streamlines the supply chain from point of origin to point of sale
- Reduces handling costs, operating costs, and the storage of inventory
- Products get to the distributor and consequently to the customer faster
- Reduces, or eliminates warehousing costs
- Increase available warehouse
Best practice is the belief that there are techniques, methods, processes, activities, incentive or reward that is more effective at delivering a particular outcome than any other technique, method, process, etc.
The idea is that with proper processes, checks, and testing, a desired outcome can be delivered with fewer problems and unforeseen complications.
Best practices can also be defined as the most efficient (least amount of effort) and effective (best results) way of accomplishing a task, based on repeatable procedures that have proven themselves over time for large numbers of people.
Despite the need to improve on processes as times change and things evolve, best-practice is considered by some as a business word used to describe the process of developing and following a standard way of doing things that multiple organizations can use for management, policy, and especially software systems.
Cycle Counting is an inventory management procedure where a small subset of inventory is counted on any given day.
Cycle counts contrast with traditional physical inventory in that physical inventory stops operation at a facility and all items are counted, audited, and recounted at one time (usually once or twice a year).
Cycle counts are less disruptive to daily operations, provide an ongoing measure of inventory accuracy and procedure execution, and can be tailored to focus on items with higher value or higher movement.
The type o cycle counting performed at National Products Fulfilment (NPF) uses an ABC code analysis, segregating items into various categories based on usage, value of both.
The segregation into these categories is performed via a computer algorithm that facilitates the process
System integration between companies, in our case between National Product Fulfilment’s clients and us, is the process of linking together different computing systems and software applications physically or functionally.
This involves integrating existing (often disperse) subsystems. The subsystems will have interfaces. Integration involves joining the subsystems together by creating interfaces between them; this process is done by mapping the file layouts between our clients and NPF’s systems.
The system integration needs to deal with the hardware engineering and interface protocols and requires a good knowledge of problem solving skills.
System integration is also about value-adding to the system, capabilities that are possible because of interactions between subsystems.
This process is performed by our System Integration Engineer who has a broad range of skills and is likely to be defined by a breadth of knowledge.
